Making Sense Of The World, One Map At A Time
The map above created by @JodySieradzki For @dadaviz shows the hair colour of world leaders. And just to be clear this means heads of government (e.g. Prime Minsters or the US President) and not Heads of State (e.g. Queen Elizabeth II or Presidents in many other countries).
A few interesting things to note:
The map above shows all countries that have sent animals into space based on data from Wikipedia. There are quite a few surprising countries both on and off the list.

The UK election may be over, but Canadians are still set to go to the polls on October 19th, 2015 to decide the fate of their own Conservative government. When they do, voters in the Territory of Nunavut will be voting in the world’s largest electoral district.
Just how big is it?
Which country has the most venomous animals? Surprisingly, it’s not Australia but Mexico with 80, followed by Brazil with 79 and then Australia with just 66 (they just happen to be more potent). So how is venomous defined here?
The map above shows Male circumcision prevalence by country, according to sources from the Circumcision Reference and Commentary Service. It shows what percentage of males (of all ages) have been circumcised.
This would make the average Roman in 14AD poorer than the average citizen of every single one of the world’s countries in 2015.

This includes 13 states that did at one point in the past but now, for variety of reasons, do not. Interestingly, this includes a few Latin American countries.
