You get to live anywhere on Earth for a year, all expenses paid, but you can’t leave your chosen area. Where do you pick?

The above is a fun where would you choose to live scenario. Here’s a bit more about each choice:

A – UK/France

  • Big cities include London, Paris and Barcelona
  • Also the Netherlands, Belgium, Western Germany and most of Switzerland.

B – Scandinavia, Central Europe & Italy

  • Big cities would include Berlin, Rome and Warsaw
  • Includes most of Scandinavia, plus central Europe plus most of Italy.

C – Eastern Europe / Western Asia

  • Big cities would include Istanbul, Moscow, Cairo and Dubai just to name  a few.
  • Huge area and includes everything from Greece and Türkiye to Russia to Egypt and Dubai
  • Biggest range of different places to live and visit.

D- East Asia

  • Big cities include Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing
  • Includes all of Japan and South Korea
  • Also includes most of Northern and Central China and Central India.

 E – Southeast Asia

  • Bangkok, Hanoi, Taipei, Hong Kong and Singapore all options
  • Includes Southern India and China
  • Also includes Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia

 F – Australia and Northern New Zealand

  • Includes Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland
  • Also includes most of Indonesia and even Tanzania

G – South Africa and Southern Australia and New Zealand 

  • Includes Cape Town, Christchurch and Melbourne
  • Includes a large number of Sub-Saharan African countries
  • Also includes a big Chunk of Antarctica

H – Antarctica

  • Not much here besides a few small islands and large chunk of Antarctica

I –  South America

  • Buenos Aires, Santiago and Rio de Janeiro all big cities.
  • Includes most of Brazil plus all of Argentina and Chile.

J – Southern US, Central America & Caribbean

  • Includes cities such as Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami and Mexico City
  • Includes all of Mexico, California and Texas.

K – Central North America 

  • Includes Vancouver, Seattle  and Atlanta
  • Mostly middle of the US, plus Vancouver and Vancouver island

L – Canada and North East US

  • Includes New York, Chicago and Toronto plus Lisbon, Madrid and Dublin
  • Includes all of Canada minus Vancouver, Iceland, Portugal and Ireland
  • Also includes US Northeast and most of Spain
