The map above shows which countries celebrate Halloween. Besides the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland also have fairly widespread celebrations.
Other countries such as Mexico celebrate somewhat similar things such as Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) around the same time.

The map above shows the number of births per year in Nigeria vs Europe in 2023 according to Our World In Data.
In that year Europe (including all of Russia) recorded 6.3 million births vs Nigeria with 7.5 million.
Below we look at births and overall population trends from 1900 to 2100. (Note data up to 2023 is historically accurate, while that from 2024 to 2100 is the UN’s medium population estimate).

The joke is that while Canada is the second-largest country in the world, most tourists only ever visit a few small, well-known spots, so their “I’ve been to Canada” really means “I’ve been to one of like four cities.”
The vast rest of the country (which is huge) gets completely ignored.
