Seems that in that sense the US has more in common with Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, etc. than with the rest of the developed world. 🙁

We have lived and traveled in many countries. Now living here in the US and I can say that NOWHERE else in the world people are as gun crazy like this. In other countries it is the thugs that carry guns for bad purposes. Here everyone feels they must own one. And all feel they have the right to use it, even over road rage!

      You’re an idiot.
I’ve been driving for forty years, over 800,000 miles of commutes, lunch-trips, vacations, etc.. Never seen a single weapon wielded in anger or a bluff.

I’m more inclined to believe your ignorance makes you susceptible to being led by pipers.

Its still a a fact that in us – there are much more murders then in similar western countries. And also much more prisoners. One can also notice how much fear there is in USA – you live and breathe the fear. And the more guns – more fear. Gun don’t make you safe and fear does not lead to more freedom.

According to FBI, there were 15,129 murders in US in 2017. Approximately 11,000 by a gun. That’s 2,000 less than your claim.

Which FBI stats are you referring to? Did you get the wrong year? Please read.
“In 2017, the estimated number of murders in the nation was 17,284. This was a 0.7 percent decrease from the 2016 estimate, a 20.7 percent increase from the 2013 figure, and a 5.0 percent rise from the number in 2008.”

I think this map would work better by showing the data as per capita

Few quick sums while I avoid work…
per capita in USA is 1 murder per 18,994 people
per capita in sum of other countries listed is 1 murder per 131,566 people
I’m no statistician, but I think that means people in USA are about 7 x more likely to be murdered than people in the other countries mentioned – broadly speaking; east Asia, Europe, Canada & Australasia.

How many other countries listed have a Constitution….that guarantees the people the right to keep and bear arms….or something identical to our US Constitution’s second Amendment?

So….a document, over 200 years old, OK’s massive murder rates?

And you are OK with that?

Carefully cherry-picked nations used to try to justify disarming law-abiding US citizens

All the NO-GO Zones in Europe means the authorities do not have an accurate count of the killings.

Cherry picked? What, pretty much all of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, South Korea, New Zealand… ie countries with which (one would imagine) the USA would generally compare itself on other criteria, such as education, living standards, democracy (ahem), etc?

Hi Yahoo211. I offered an answer to your question a couple of days ago, but the moderator decided not to post it. I can’t imagine why, since it was only numbers and extrapolation with no comment .
Still, who knows what demons haunt the inner lives of those who decide facts have no place in a chat about geography?

17324 is 74 more than 17250. In order for the map to be correct Iceland, Malta, Luxembourgh, Slovenia, Cyprus, and Estonia should not be in red.
