One thing that continues to surprise me is just how big the US economy is, at least in nominal aka US dollar terms. The map above shows you could split the US economy in 3 and it would be the #1, #3 and #4 biggest economies.

First off the data behind the map is solid as it comes directly from Gov.UK and Gov.Wales.
And while I’m not sure what the purpose of creating the map was, I do think it’s missing a bit of nuance (which to be fair to the map author is difficult to do on a single map).
