The map above comes from Ookla® Speedtest Intelligence® and shows where in the world you can 5G mobile phone coverage and when the infrastructure was first built.
The really big standout is India which seems to have blanked the country in 5G coverage within just the last 2 years.
This contrasts strongly with it’s neighbours like Pakistan, Myanmar and even large parts (of mostly sparsely populated) China.
Europe also has good coverage up until you reach Ukraine and Belarus and into Russia.
A few other areas with notable difference in coverage are between North and South Korea, Cyprus and Northern Cyprus, Israel and its neighbours, and Thailand and its neighbours.
Total 5G Locations (based on 20km2 tile)

- 2021: 47,000
