    The designations “wettest” and “driest” apply to precipitation totals. Therefore, this might not necessarily take into account situations in which less rain falls for a far longer period in the day and/or night (giving the impression of “a rainy day” or whatever) or in which more rain falls for a much shorter period of time (e.g. thundershowers).
