First off the data behind the map is solid as it comes directly from Gov.UK and Gov.Wales.
And while I’m not sure what the purpose of creating the map was, I do think it’s missing a bit of nuance (which to be fair to the map author is difficult to do on a single map).

The map above shows the share of babies born to unmarried mothers in each US state. The data comes from the Page 60: Table IV from the 2023 CDC National Vital Statistics Reports.

Before creating the map above I had no real sense just how many people lived in Tehran, but it turns out it’s just slightly smaller than the Greater Los Angeles Area. A lot more than I originally thought!
