The map above shows the locations and logos for all of Europe’s Metro (aka subway/underground) systems. One thing that really stands out to me is the fact that while London had the first Metro system in the world, the UK as a whole has woefully few systems compared to France, Italy, Germany, Spain or even Turkey.
Here are some details about each of the systems:

The UK has more light rail systems than this map suggests! Other metro systems (from memory) include:
Blackpool and Fleetwood Tramways
Edinburgh Trams
Greater Manchester Metrolink
London / Croydon Tramlink
Nottingham Express Transit
South Yorkshire Supertram
West Midlands Metro

I enjoy your maps but you must be a southerner because your map of European metro systems missed out not only Liverpool’s Merseyrail system, part of which is based on a 19th century city loop line, but also the ever-expanding Manchester Metro system. True they both incorporate some existing rail lines but so does Vienna as well as Berlin (and Newcastle).
