But perhaps most striking is how few routes there are in Africa.

The top 10 are:

- India – 14.7 million
- Japan – 11.1 million
- Brazil – 9.2 million
- Indonesia – 8.0 million
- Australia – 6.2 million
- Mexico – 5.2 million
- Spain 4.1 million
- Türkiye – 4.1 million

Generally speaking domestic flights make up about 60% of capacity globally vs 40% for international, but obviously this varies a lot by region.
