The Obesity Epidemic in America Summed Up In One Map

Obesity epidemic in America

Map by Ricky Linn

Why is America so fat? Well as this faux Time magazine cover created by Ricky Linn shows, it may be because the country looks like a man gorging himself on an Alaskan-sized burger.

Amazingly, all 50 states are represented on the map; Hawaii is a small speck of ketchup falling off the burger, in case you missed it.

Also, many of the states that make up the mouth (e.g. Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi) are among the fattest in the US, with Mississippi having the dubious distinction of having the highest rate of adult obesity in the whole country (35% of adults).
