
The North of Ireland (aka The North of The Republic of Ireland) extends further North than any part of Northern Ireland (one of the 4 countries of the UK).
The Northernmost point on the mainland is:
- Banba’s Crown (the tip of Malin Head), Inishowen Peninsula, County Donegal, Republic of Ireland (Latitude: 55° 23′ 4″ N)
And the Northernmost point on the Northern Irish part of the mainland is:
- Northernmost point: Benbane Head, County Antrim at a Latitude of 55°15′N
And if we want to include islands.
- Northernmost point including islands for the Republic is: Tor Beg rock northeast of Inishtrahull, County Donegal: 55°26’59″N
- Northernmost point including islands for NI is: Skerriagh, Ballygill North, Rathlin Island at 55°18′N
