A Map of Superheroes in NYC & The Areas They Protect

Map created by TopView Sightseeing

The map above shows some of the most popular superheroes from comics and film who protect New York City. It also explores the areas in which they either live, hide out, or roam for criminals.

Wondering where Batman, Superman, etc. are? DC, unlike Marvel, tends to set its comics in fictional cities such as Gotham or Metropolis, whereas a significant portion of the Marvel universe is set in New York.

Here’s just a small Marvel superheroes list covering the most important players.

  • Where does Spider-Man live? Peter Parker’s residence is 20 Ingram St. in Queens, a fake address in Forest Hills, but numerous places get the protection of Spider-Man in New York City.
  • Which characters roam Hell’s Kitchen? Marvel’s Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist can all be found in the area, and their friend, Luke Cage, can be found in Harlem.
  • Who has their headquarters in NYC? There’s the fictional building in The Avengers, the Sanctum Sanctorum from Doctor Strange, and numerous local spots for spotting local Marvel heroes!

Non-Marvel NYC Heroes

These include:

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
  • Ghostbusters
  • The Watchmen
  • Gargoyles
  • The Magicians
  • Heroes
  • Spawn

Just to name a few.

You ought to include Clark “Doc” Savage Jr., the “Man of Bronze”, who predates both Batman and Superman. He’s based in Manhattan:

“Doc’s office is on the 86th floor of a New York City skyscraper, implicitly the Empire State Building, reached by Doc’s private high-speed elevator. Doc owns a fleet of cars, trucks, aircraft, and boats which he stores at a secret hangar on the Hudson River, under the name The Hidalgo Trading Company, which is linked to his office by a pneumatic-tube system nicknamed the “flea run”. ” – Wikipedia

Perhaps this is an odd question but if it were possible to do cross overs of those above who would most likely run into who? I am particularly curious about the Morlocks and TMNT. Oh and thanks for the map.

This is very cool but let’s please not forget The Red Hook in Brooklyn (and “New Brooklyn”).

    Cheers!
