The Satellite map above shows the Newmarket Health Centre and Fertility Clinic or does it?
While I don’t want to burst anyone’s bubble…
There isn’t really a fertility clinic there since it’s a Long-Term Care Home with 132 licensed beds (with 1058 people on the waiting list).
This is given away by the top “review” of the fertility clinic which says:
“you also came here only after seeing TT/IG to check out if the building really is the shape as they claim…”
But at least you can do a tour of it here.
The Huffington Post says that:
“The region also hasn’t been able to find the name of the architect, the Star reports, but in the meantime, area residents seem pretty entertained.”
And CTV goes on to say:
The building was constructed in 1951, and serves as a home to patients, seniors and veterans in need of long- and short-term care. The building has 132 long-term care beds and a 24 hour nursing staff.
The building is made up of four wings, which extend from a central section. The western wings give the appearance of arms, while the wings in the east look like legs, complete with knees and feet.
There is also a small, square shaped section at the top of the “torso” that looks like a head, and a rectangular section that juts out between the “legs.”
