How this tool works
Your position is first matched to a state, then tested against that state's county boundaries from the Census Bureau, all in your browser. The county boundary file loads on first use. Uses your device GPS with one click (your location is processed in your browser and never stored), or you can type coordinates or click the map.

Why use it
An enormous amount of US administration runs on counties, yet almost nothing tells you which one you are in. This answers it from your actual position with no account or app install.
