The exact dates and times of the next equinoxes and solstices, with a countdown.
How this tool works
The tool computes the sun's declination through the coming months and finds the zero crossings (equinoxes) and extremes (solstices), refining each to within a few hours of almanac values. It shows the next seasonal marker with a countdown and the next four dates.
What you can do with it
- Get the exact moment the season changes, not just the date
- Count down to the next solstice or equinox
- See all four upcoming markers at once for planning
- Use the dates for teaching what equinoxes and solstices actually are
Why use it
The season-change dates move between the 19th and 23rd and most people are never sure which day it falls this year. Computing it from the sun itself gives the answer for any year without a lookup table.
