How this tool works
The tool computes the moon's position and illumination with standard astronomical formulas, then renders the phase as a disc that matches what you see in the sky. The month grid shows every night at a glance, clicking a day shows its details, and the list below finds the next new moons, quarters, and full moons by scanning forward through the lunar cycle. The hemisphere toggle flips the disc, because the moon appears mirrored from the southern hemisphere.
