One tap tells you which ZIP code you are in.
How this tool works
The tool asks OpenStreetMap for the postal code at your exact position. If that lookup is unavailable, it falls back to the nearest ZIP code area center point from Census data, clearly labeled as approximate. ZIP codes are postal delivery routes rather than neat areas, so points near boundaries can genuinely belong to either code. Uses your device GPS with one click (your location is processed in your browser and never stored), or you can type coordinates or click the map.
What you can do with it
- Find the ZIP code where you are standing for forms and deliveries
- Check ZIP codes while house hunting or scouting locations
- Identify ZIP codes for arbitrary coordinates
- Get an offline approximate answer even when the lookup service is down
Why use it
ZIP codes drive insurance quotes, delivery availability, and demographic lookups, but they are hard to determine from a map because they follow postal routes, not visible boundaries. A point lookup is the practical answer.
