The map shows what an independent Republic of Kamchatka, (best known as a territory in Risk) might look like.
A few facts:
- With 316,116 people it would have a population similar to Iceland or The Bahamas.
- The borders used here correspond with the Kamchatka Krai
- Demographically it would be 86% Russian, 4% Ukrainian, 2.3% Koryaks and a mix of other groups making up the rest of population.
- It would be 464,300 sq km, similar in size to Sweden, Spain or Iraq or about 2% of Russia’s land area.
- It would have a GDP per capita of $12,931, similar to Uruguay, Lebanon or Bulgaria.
- Finally, with just 0.68 people per sq. km. it would have by far the lowest population density of any country on earth (Mongolia, the current least dense country, is overcrowded in comparison with 1.92 people per sq km)

I’ve always been fascinated by the peninsula ever since Korean oo7
And I’ve always thought that if you look at the coastline it looks like a side profile of Ronald Reagan looking Eastward
kind of an odd irony

Considering that it would get direct revenue from its gas/oil and other natural resources instead of handing them over to Moscow, its actual PPP would be much higher.
